To learn more about CSS and responsive web design I reworked this web site from scratch. Content is the same but now newer techniques are used for layouting (instead of 15 year old tables and spacer images...). It should also work on mobiles (especially the online games which are supposed to be optimized for portrait, didn't know how to block landscape so it will just look scrappy there). I hope everything works, I could only check it on a few devices.
Vignesh Sampath Kumar has submitted a new theme 'Arkanoid1' that was inspired by Arkanoid 1.
By default the converter lgc-pg no longer separates roads and bridges into different terrain types (still exists as an option if required for special cases). This restores compatibility with the old add-ons which were broken until 1.3.0. Also some segmenation faults have been fixed.
In Kids mode bonuses now last four times longer and brick regeneration is four times slower to compensate for the very slow ball movement. A danish translation is available thanks to Joe Dalton, Colin Tuckley fixed a server crash and some levelsets have been added or updated.
Thanks to Ivan Baidakou there is now a fresh LGeneral port for Windows available. It lacks sound at the moment though.
In campaign mode core units can now be transferred to next scenario. However, only for consecutive scenarios, e.g., while you are in the east or west but not from east to west. Also a number of compilation issues were fixed.
Carpet bombing is now displayed properly (when attacking empty city/airfield) and the damage status is stored in saved games. Thanks to Markus Koschany the desktop info and icon files are stored in the proper locations. The deploy mask has been improved and a number of smaller issues were fixed.
Thanks to Tez Bartlomiej LGeneral now provides a "Goto Unit" menu to easily select any unit on the map from a list and level bombers can attack and temporarily destroy airfields and cities. The latter requires to rerun the converter lgc-pg to work.
And after years of denial... yes, finally core unit support is on its way but not done yet.
OFT has submitted the levelsets Africa, America, Europe, Asia, Oceania replacing their former South... West... versions as well as an update of AllWorlds.
The k.u.k General campaign created by Steve McGuba has now been released by him under a CC-BY-SA 3.0 license, so finally Markus Koschany at Debian was able to create a package out of it. It is available as a tarball at LGeneral's project page as well (it does not require the original PG data). It still needs a lot of tweaking to become real fun but it is actually already great to have this as a free game content for LGeneral. If you could give it a try (just download, extract and copy to the LGeneral installation directory) and report back any issues you encounter to Markus Koschany it were really helpful. You can file bug reports at https://packages.debian.org/unstable/lgeneral-data. Thanks and enjoy!
